Mark Engel

Mark Engel is a figurative painter based in California. The body is the subject — layered into landscape, split and rebuilt, never quite fixed. He works through layers, revisions and erasures so the figure sits between structure and dissolution.

Recent solo shows include Shifting Terrain at the Triton Museum of Art and Shapeshifters at Know Future Gallery. Group exhibitions include Werring Contemporary, Ryan Graff Contemporary, Mash Gallery, Pamela Walsh Gallery and the Euphrat Museum of Art. He received an MFA from San Jose State University and teaches at Mission College in Santa Clara.

The work ships from the United States.
