Antony Squizzato
Squizzato is a French artist and art director. After 15 years leading creative work in digital marketing, he left that business in 2014 to build his own pictorial world, while still working with brands. He treats the two as one practice, not opposites. The studio years produced a visual grammar he calls New Constructivism: flat colour, playful geometry, and a mix of pop art, Cubism, Bauhaus and Suprematism. Some series are precise and architectural. Others are raw — distorted portraits, fleeting moments, people alone in a contemporary setting. He moves between paint and new technology, and wants the feeling to matter more than the method. Since 2015 the work has been shown and collected internationally. Through abstraction he leaves the image open. As he puts it: figure it out for yourselves, or feel free to talk to him.
